Blessed Mums believe that breastfeeding is a blessing from God
for both mother and child. Check out the benefit
and you will know what we are talking about. We want to bring
this an additional blessing to all breastfeeding mothers - nice
and affordable nursing wear.
Blessed Mums is set up with the aim of
promoting breastfeeding, not only for the first month but beyond
one year old and for as long as both mother and child mutually
desires. WHO
recommends (as at 2003) that mothers breastfeed exclusively for
6 months and continue to breastfeed for at least 2 years with
supplemental food.
Nursing wear is NOT a mandatory item to enable a mother to breastfeed,
but something 'nice'to
have. To be able to breastfeed, you need most importantly is the
determination to feed your baby with the BEST baby food. And of
course you need your baby and yourself, 8).
Nursing wear helps a mother to be able to breastfeed while looking
pretty and discreetly in public places. Especially for mothers
who will continue to breastfeed her baby beyond 6 months and does
not want to keep wearing large T-shirt for easy access.
I (Anna Tee) have breastfed all my 3 children
- Alison Tee (for 7 months), Audrey Tee (for 4.5 years) and Arrick
Tee (17 mths -- Jan'04, still on going). I am a working mother
who has provided and will continue to provide the precious breast
milk to my baby (w/o formula supplement) until they are at least
2 year of age. (And 'Yes', it can be done, working and still giving
the best to your baby)
Angeline Yau is breastfeeding her baby
Allyna who is now 9 months (Jan'04) and is still continuing to
nurse her. Angeline is also a working mother and has been providing
breast milk to her baby without any formula.
Fong Lin is also currently breastfeeding
her 2nd child, Isabel who is now 10 months (Jan'04). Fong Lin
has just quit her job to be able to stay at home and fully breastfeed
Isabel.
We will be more than happy to share our
experiences; or if you need any breastfeeding support, you may
drop us an email info@blessedmums.com
.
We will be happy to hear from you.
You may want to join the newly set group
Ibu
Sayang where mothers (expecting,
new or experienced with children of any age) can share their problems,
tips, recommendations and experiences. Not to leave out - fathers
are also welcomed. Topics discussed can be from getting pregnant
to anything related to parenting. As the majority of the members
are breastfeeding mothers, we hope that it would be an encouragement
for new mothers to start their breastfeeding journey.
